AFC Fylde Women travel to Teesside on Sunday when they take on Norton & Stockton Ancients at the Norton Sports Complex.

This away encounter takes place on Sunday 23rd February, with kick-off at 2.00 pm.

The Coasters hit the road this Sunday for another crucial clash in the FAWNL Division One North with the chance to pick up valuable points in their bid to climb away from the drop zone.

Danny Murphy’s side will be looking to build on the positive performance and result of last weekend’s credible draw with Middlesbrough Women.

Last time out, the Coasters entertained the Boro Women in a rearranged fixture at Kellamergh Park. Murphy’s team took the game to their title-chasing opponents and edged ahead shortly before the break when Demi Devereaux fired in from close range. After keeping their visitors at bay for most of the second half, Fylde could not hang on to their one-goal lead as Boro’s Jessica Mett swept home from a corner deep in stoppage time.

Their attention now switches to this weekend’s trip to the North East for an away clash with Norton & Stockton Ancients. It is a quick turnaround for Chris Burton’s side, who will head into this Sunday’s game in a confident mood after registering an emphatic 4-0 win away to Durham Cestria last Thursday evening.

Bianca Owens’ sensational hat-trick and a spectacular strike from Shannon Reed helped the Ambers on their way to a resounding victory over their North East rivals. That result lifted the Ancients into eighth place in a tightly packed bottom half of the table.

Both teams will be hoping to kick on and improve their respective league positions when they face off in the return fixture at the Norton Sports Complex on Sunday.
