AFC Fylde Women head into March with a home clash against Huddersfield Town Women at Kellamergh Park.
This FAWNL Division One North fixture takes places on Sunday 9th March, with kick-off at 2.00 pm.
Following back-to-back draws in their previous two outings, the Coasters are gradually building momentum as they approach the final stages of the season.
Danny Murphy’s Fylde will be looking to continue their positive run when they entertain Glen Preston’s Huddersfield Town side at Kellamergh Park.
A fortnight ago, the Coasters travelled to Teesside for a tough away trip to Norton & Stockton Ancients. On that occasion, Fylde twice battled from behind to secure an impressive 2-2 draw against the Ambers. In a tightly fought contest, Imogen Borrowdale and Nicola James both registered on the scoresheet to ensure that the Coasters came away from the North East with a crucial point on the board.
As for their next opponents, the fifth-place Terriers are hoping to make it back-to-back wins after their 2-1 victory over Leeds United Women last time out. A first-half brace from Katie Astle helped the Terriers to claim the local bragging rights in a West Yorkshire derby at the Stafflex Arena.
When these two sides last met at the start of December, the Coasters returned empty-handed after a bruising 6-1 loss on the road. The Terriers established a two-goal lead in the first half, before adding four more goals in the second period. Fylde eventually got on the scoresheet in the closing minutes as Lois Moore marked her return from injury with a consolation goal.
As the two teams meet again for the return fixture this Sunday, the Coasters will be hoping for a better result this time around as they aim to move up the table.
